2012-2013
Multiple roles
In 2012, I was based out of New Delhi and made a peer-funded 72 min docudrama film called 'Nothing Unusual', which went on to screen at a few film clubs around the country. I was also designing a children's monthly magazine called 'The Little Messenger', and dabbled in social media content creation for a bilingual fortnightly called 'Forward Press'. I had also had a few of my poems published in international journals during this period.

In 2013, I found myself in Mumbai and after a few failed attempts at starting a career as a writer, I made a 33-minute short film called 'The Tenant'. During these months, I also started editing videos across corporate, wedding and short fiction categories.
2010-2011
Multiple roles
I dropped out after my 2nd year of B.Sc. Hons (Economics) and started working as an intern for a Kolkata TV channel's production under director Arin Paul. I was also teaching drawing and painting to kids between 4-6 years old. I made a couple of short films and one of them was released as part of a collection of independent films by Little Fish Eat Big Fish. I got my first real project with Jat Balwan, a documentary about the Jat Regiment, commissioned by the Indian Army. I had joined the team as a researcher, scriptwriter and assistant director; but it's during this 3-month long project that I learnt the basics of cinematography & video editing.
Skills
& Expertise
-
Easily adapt to any new software from Windows to Mac OS; although I've been working on only Mac OS the past decade or so. I'm kind of an Apple loyalist, you could say.
-
Script & Screenplay Writing (in English) - Final Draft etc.
-
Editing; both text and videos. And both offline & online in terms of video: it's never software or the keyboard shortcuts at all. I prefer FCP X if you have a tight deadline, But otherwise I'm cool with Premiere Pro and all; even Avid if required.
-
Photography & Videography on both Canon & Sony DSLR cameras.
-
Extreme levels of empathy that has often been put to use to predict client responses ahead of time..
